Principal's Newsletter

Hello again,

I hope everyone had an enjoyable Spring Break and a peaceful and reflective Lenten season so far. Suddenly it is Holy Week and our attention focuses on the Passion of our Lord. The upcoming Holy Days affect our schedule, so please note the changes to our regular school week. As always, here is a list of important things to remember:

Thursday, April 20, 2000: Half day of school, dismissal at 11:15
April 21, 2000: No school

World's Finest Candy: We have extra bunnies and other candy in our school office. If you would like more before this weekend, please contact us about picking some up ($3.50 each). All money for candy orders is due in by Wednesday, April 19, 2000. Please get all candy money turned in by this date.

Picture Packets: All unused picture packets, or the money for picture packets, are also due on Wednesday, April 19, 2000. Please make sure all unwanted packets are returned so no one is charged for something they don't want.

Talent Show: Tryouts for next week's TALENT SHOW!!! (Wednesday, April 26th at 1:00) are this Thursday. Students interested in performing need to have a

turned in to the office by this Thursday. These were passed out last week and additional copies are available in the office. Several people have asked about people other than our students taking part in the show. I have decided that this is a school event and therefor should be for our students to display their talents. I feel that we have enough talented students that outside help is not necessary.

Tardies: Just a reminder. As I informed everyone in my last letter home, we have adapted our tardy policy. In addition to the jeans day reward (which has been highly effective...Thank you everyone for your extra effort!) we are reinstating our tardy policy from last year. Students with excessive tardies (4 or more) will receive a detention. Detentions will be served on the Monday following the fourth tardy. Again, this is not my first choice, but the reality is that we still have students with an unacceptable amount of tardies.

Spring is here!! Six weeks to go!! Hopefully someone will inform our local weather people and it will begin to feel like it.

Thanks and God Bless,

Mr. Priest
