Happy New Year ! ! ! !
Hello again and welcome back to St. Francis Xavier in this new millennium. I hope everyone had a joyful Christmas and rang in the New Year without much worry about Y2K. Now that we are all back together, just a few reminders and announcements:
SCRIP: Monday, January 10th is the last day to order SCRIP and have it count toward your second quarter balance.
Ephiphany Tree: The school Ephiphany Tree is in our main lobby and is decorated with ornaments for each class. Each ornament has a "wish" written on it for that grade's classroom. Please stop in or have your student grab an ornament off the tree if you would like to fulfill one of these wishes.
Ephiphany Parties . . . will be held on Friday, January 7, 2000 in the afternoon. Thanks to all the room mothers who help make these partiers fun for our students. If you would like to help, please contact a room mother for your student's grade level. If you are not sure who to call, call the schol and we will point you in the right direction. We will be having a short re-enactment of the first Ephiphany over at church Friday morning at 8:30. Please come and celebrate with us! Snow Days! ! ! In the event of adverse weather, plesae tune in to our local news channelks to see if school has been cancelled. A good rule of thumb is that if the Grand Rapids Public Schools are cancelled due to weather, St. Francis School will also be closed that day. We will notify the news channels as early as possible if we feel the need to close, but the information may not appear until they update the listings.
Hair Styles: Recently, some of the upper grade students have worn various types of temporary hair coloring to school. This is not acceptable. Please be aware that this topis is covered in the Dress Code section of the Student Handbook. Also, a reminder to our young ladies; no excessive make-up.
